Kloster Birnau
The Basilica of Birnau is a Baroque masterpiece on the northern shore of Lake Constance, picturesquely nestled among vineyards with sweeping views over the lake. Built between 1746 and 1749 by the Vorarlberg architect Peter Thumb, it features a splendid Rococo interior, including frescoes by Gottfried Bernhard Götz and sculptures by Joseph Anton Feuchtmayer, such as the famous "Honigschlecker" (honey-licking cherub). Today, the church is a popular pilgrimage site and a highlight of the Upper Swabian Baroque Route.

Sea Life
SEA LIFE Konstanz, located on Lake Constance, offers a fascinating journey through aquatic habitats – from the Alps to the deep sea. Over 3,500 animals live here, including sharks, rays, seahorses, and penguins. A glass tunnel lets visitors walk beneath the sharks. Children can touch starfish or bring their own fish drawings to life in interactive zones. Ideal for families, even on rainy days. Admission includes the Lake Constance Nature Museum. Book online in advance to avoid waiting times.
Konstanz
Konstanz sits on Lake Constance, right at the Swiss border. Its historic old town, with the cathedral and medieval alleys, is full of charm. The Council Building recalls the famous Council of 1414. Konstanz blends culture, shopping at the LAGO Center, and nature – from lakeside walks to the flower island of Mainau. With its university, the city is vibrant and international. Ferries, bike paths, and lake cruises make it perfect for exploring.
